First Flash Lighting Photos
These are the first photos from the inaugural Flash Lighting event last month, courtesy of Nadine Stewart. The images really capture the dynamism and fluidity we were aiming for.

Thank You Flash Lighters!
Thanks to our Flash Lighters for their support of last night's event.
Flash Lighting One was a huge success solely because of YOUR participation. It was a great way to kick-start the weekend and have a bit of fun with lighting.
We'd also like to thank everyone from the Gaiety School of Acting: our 'lead' Flash Lighter Martina, as well as Patrick and Richie.
If anyone has any stills or videos that you'd like to share, please do and we'll put them up here too, and we'd love to hear any of your comments.

What a Feeling!
Our group of Flash Lighters is steadily growing. We can confirm that we will be assembling in Meeting House Square (at the back of the Gaiety) at the very heart of Dublin city centre at 1845 on Friday 23/01/2009. The event itself will be taking place a short distance away and should be finished by 1905.
The performance will be inspired by the greatest dance/welding movie of 1983, Flashdance. Of course, we don't expect you to be as rhythmic or as athletic as Jennifer Beals (who could be?). We just want allow five minutes after a long week (year) for everyone to let their hair down, have some fun and enjoy shaking their ass.
We'd like to thank the wonderful Gaiety School of Acting for lending us their support, with students and staff joining the Flash Lighting group. All Flash Lighters will receive a special concession on the door for the Gaiety's "Masqueraid" Variety Show, which will follow Flash Lighting at the Button Factory in Temple Bar. The "Masqueraid" Variety Show is being held to raise funds for the 2nd Year Graduation Play.
If you know anyone else that might be interest, please tell them about the blog and to register with us at flashlighting@live.ie. If for any reason you can't make it, please let us know.
Just remember to bring a torch and your dancing shoes (welding masks optional) tomorrow evening.

FLASH LIGHTING TO HIT TEMPLE BAR
Our plans are coming together and we can now confirm that Flash Lighting will occur in Temple Bar, Dublin city centre at 1845 on Friday 23rd January 2009!
The remote meeting place will be confirmed tomorrow at noon by email and here on the blog.
Please remember to take your own personal torches to work on Friday. All you need is your torch, so wrap up warm and bring your sense of fun.
If you can't make it, please let us know.

This is the kind of reaction we're going for.
Except in Dublin.
And we'll have torches.
